Commercial Construction is selected as Contractor for The AFRO’s headquarters

The Afro newspaper has been selected by Baltimore City to revitalize the historic Upton Mansion. The newspaper will use the site as their new headquarters and chose Commercial Construction as contractor for this $7 million 10,000 square foot historic renovation project. “I feel honored and proud to be the builder of choice for the iconic AFRO.”, said Marty Glaze, President of Commercial Construction.

The newspaper’s founding home was in the Upton community back in 1892 and is now celebrating its return to this West Baltimore community. The headquarters will house office space, classrooms, theaters, media suites, fitness space, archive space, research rooms, and community space.
